1. Getting Your API ID & Transaction Key
So your once your merchant account is approved, you will receive an email from authorize.net to activate your account. It will look similar to this:
Once you click Activate Your Account, follow the flow on authorize.net to continue to get your account live. You will need a PIN to complete the process which will look similar to this email from authorize.net.
Once you're successfully through activation you will see this onboarding checklist.
BE SURE to change your "Test" environment to "Live".
Test will look like it processes donations on the technology, but no actual monetary processing will occur until your account is live.
OK GREAT! Now you have access to your payment gateway and connected to your merchant account.
Now we need to connect your API Keys to your fundraising web pages and app.
To request your keys from authorize.net, you will need to go to the ACCOUNT menu tab.
Once you're at account, click the "API Credentials & Keys" link under "Security Settings". And you'll land here and find the first item you'll need... Your "API Login ID"!
You'll need the Secret Answer to the Security Question and you'll want to "Obtain" a "New Transaction Key" and click "Submit".
And violá! There's the 2nd item you need, your Transaction Key. Please email your API Login ID & Transaction Key back to your client partner and agency.
