In order to preview a text message before scheduling for your entire community, you'll need to schedule a "test" message to yourself.
It is recommended that if you add a link in an outbound text message, send yourself a test message first to be sure the link is working correctly and the page is mobile friendly.
How to Send a Test Message:
- Log in to mGive
- Select the Tools tab
- Choose your outbound message type and follow the prompts
- On the “Segment Data” screen, under Options choose “Mobile Number” from the drop down menu. Keep the middle drop down at “equal to”. In the empty field type in your mobile number. Then click the orange ADD button.
- Select the “Refresh Count” button (upper right corner) after adding the filter to confirm the recipient count is one (you).
NOTE: If the recipient number is zero, please run a Mobile Number Lookup report (Under Reports tab) to view activity and confirm you have opted in to receive text messages from the keyword you selected on the Recipient List screen
Additionally, you can only send one test text message to one mobile number at a time. Please call to discuss sending test messages to more than one mobile number at a time.
